::i want. i love. i have.

I want: This umbrella holder from Ballard Designs. I love just quatrefoil print. *sigh

I love: Aaron. Isn't it just so weird/amazing when you sit down and think about how perfect someone can be for you. In just every aspect.

I have: A new little nephew or niece on the way! I figure it's okay to say this as Lee has already posted it online. I'm terribly excited! Congrats to the blessed couple.

*One more bonus I have: read one of the Twilight books. Yes, I'm ashamed. No, I don't care if you judge me. Did I read the first 2 books...no. I saw the movies. I wanted to know what happened. Did I enjoy the book...yes.

::insert clever title here

There's much to post, but a lack of willingness to do it. A lot going on...not all good. But again...that's for another day. In new house news I finally got my gallery wall up! It looks cute. Now we just need to put a coat of paint in there and the dining room will be finished!

I also found a great idea to use for the kitchen wall! I'll have to take pictures soon to show you.

::good news

Anthropologie is officially opening March 19th here in Saddle Creek. Get in line ladies...I'll see you there on Friday!

In more selfish and non-applicable to you readers good news, I've gotten alot accomplished around the house. The bar stools in the kitchen got recovered. I finally found a good "throw" (aka rug that I re purposed) for the white couch in the den for kitty to sleep on. Gray cat + white couch = grey couch. You better believe I'll make it work to keep my white couch! We went to Lowe's last night and picked up some paint for that side table in the den as well as flower and vegetable seeds. That's right...we're going to garden! I got a peony plant to put in the front yard, snap dragons (*I think*) to put around the mailbox, and dwarf sweet pea for a planter in the backyard. We also got some tomato, pepper and strawberry seeds to try our hand at growing some of our own food. I'll let you know how it goes! Yay for Spring!

What about you? Are you into the gardening thing? Have any useful tips for new planters like us?

::for you

I've recently been told that my aunt is now a follower of this blog. So for you...I give:

Apparently clogs are back in style now. I think this is truly the first time I can say, I used to wear these back when they were in style the last time (Cue montage of years past in a "this is your life" way...jump back to reality to realize you're getting old). I put this in honor of my aunt, because I think she's the only person I know who still has these. So, Melinda...you are now officially on top of the trends. Congrats.

I myself am not a huge fan of the clogs. They don't stay on my feet and I've just recently come to accept the wedge as non-heinous footwear...so, the clog has to get in line behind capris, crocs, "boyfriend jeans", harem pants, and basically anything you'd find on Rihanna.

::all inspiration has died

So the latest project I've been working on has been a gallery wall for my dining room. I've never been good with pictures and frames, I don't know why. I have a hard time finding frames I like and once I get one, I just never know what to put in it. I'm not a huge fan of pictures (mostly because I, myself, LOATHE being photographed). So this has been a frustrating project at best.

Here's where you come in...what are some of your favorite things to frame aside from pictures. So far I have:

- some photos (I won't lie. It's just that my nephew is so darn cute...)
- ribbon (I'll show pictures later)
- fabric swatches
- my favorite card we received for our wedding
- a large pop art print
- a picture I water colored back in high school (which I'll have no problem with getting rid of)

Here are some of my inspiration pictures:

spring is near

Just a few fashion favorites for this coming season:

Of course, staying strong from last season, the embellished tee. Dress it up or dress it down, it's the easiest go-to top.

Again, still strong from last season, the ruffles. I'm loving the new tank tops many of the stores are starting to carry. They're more flowy which is perfect for a slouchy (I'm really comfortable but I want you to think I care more about style) look.

Last, but not least, the A-line mini. I'll be the first to say it's very hard for me to find skirts that I like and feel are flattering. I was really excited when I heard that these were supposed to be a big thing this spring/summer. I'm definitely going to get one.

What about you? Any trends you're looking forward to?
