Hope you all had a great weekend. I absolutely did. After almost 4 weeks/weekends of travel if was so nice to be home and just relax. I was very kindly invited to a bridal luncheon at Majestic Grill (thanks Kim!) which was fantastic. The rest of the weekend was spent catching up with family, and maybe starting a new video game (no shame).

We headed out this day around lunchtime from London, taking the Eurostar into Paris. It was a fairly short train ride and it allowed us to see the English countryside on the way. Very green, very lush, very sheep-infested. :) The train station was huge and had some great places to shop and eat while we waited. Thankfully everything went smoothly.

We took a taxi to our hotel (the Waldorf Arc de Triomphe), checked in, and headed out. We wanted to walk around the city before it got dark. Well apparently, Paris in May never gets dark. (Not until really late) We stopped at a pizza place on our way past the Arc de Triomphe towards the Eiffel Tower.

(stopping to take this picture was like something out of a Bond movie. There's not really a place on the street to stop and take a picture, but us and the other 15 heads decided to anyway!)
We took our pizza (incredible, by the way) and had a picnic right under the Eiffel Tower.

It was incredible. Absolutely massive and just stunning in real life. Pictures don't do it justice. There were people all over the grounds, just lounging, eating. Picture everything you've seen of stereotypical Paris (on those travel shows) and that's how it was. Once we finished up dinner we decided to head to the other side of the street to get a different shot of the tower.

We got back to our hotel and I decided I just needed dessert. Well, easier said than done. After a while of walking, we finally stumbled upon a little crepe shop and cafe. One crepe with nutella later, I was a seriously happy girl. And that might have been one of the best things I ate the whole trip :)
