::paris, 2

The next day, after shopping on the Champs Elysees, we headed out to see the Notre Dame since it was already closed by the time we had gotten there yesterday. Unlike the other churches, you could take as many pictures as you wanted!

In my opinion, it was the least beautiful church on the inside, though the outside architecture was incredible. It was just much more plain in design inside, though it had some seriously impressive stained glassed windows. Aaron liked this one the best because of the gargoyles :p  And we also saw the famous bell and heard the story of the hunchback of Notre Dame. (All the city pictures are taken from the tops of these churches. They all have these massive stairs you can walk up to have a great view like the one above.)

After that we wandered over to a bridge nearby ("the lovers bridge") and left our mark on the city:

You leave your lock on the bridge and throw the key into the river. It was so cute seeing all the different locks, ribbons and everything else left there by all the previous couples. Our souvenir to ourselves from Paris was a painting done by a local artist of the Notre Dame with our bridge in the foreground. Aww...

I believe from here we got on the hop on/hop off bus and headed over to the Lourve.

Whoa. This place was gigantic!! It was neat just walking around the outside of it, actually. The building used to be a fortress, so there was a large courtyard in the middle. You could just imagine all these people walking around back in the day. Inside, you could've spent Days just wandering around. The only place it was crowded was around the Mona Lisa (hence the picture from the side angle).

More shopping and eating happened and I'm pretty sure at this point in the trip I thought my feet were going to fall right off. :)
