::london, 3

The third day we started things off with a trip to Shakespeare's Globe Theater for a tour.

This theater has traveling companies that come from all over the world to perform. We lucked out with the timing of our visit, because there was a company from the Middle East who were going to perform their rendition of King Lear and we got to watch them rehearse! They were speaking in Arabic so you couldn't understand them, but it was awesome either way.

Then we took a walk over to the London Bridge.

This wasn't anything all that special honestly. We were in and out pretty quick. But the architecture of the bridge was just beautiful.

Next up, a short walk down the street to the Tower of London.

This was a huge fortress next to the Thames. We got to see the "traitors" gate along with the crowned jewels.

Right next to the Tower was the Apsley House.

This church is the oldest in London and was founded in 675 A.D. Can you imagine?! Just a few generations after Christ actually walked the earth.

And lastly we ended our tours with a trip to St. Paul's Cathedral. This and Westminster Abbey are neck and neck for favorite place visited in London. St. Paul's, like Westminster, wouldn't allow pictures inside but let me tell you it was breathtaking.

This is where the famous 'whispering dome' resides. It was too crowded to see if it worked. We climbed up 547 steps to get that second picture, so enjoy it ladies and gentlemen.

We ended the day with the show Wicked at the Apollo Victory theater. Needless to say we got the hotel that night completely exhausted! Phew.
