::finality
We closed! It only took about 15 minutes, cost about $7k less than I thought it would and we can officially start painting today (assuming MLGW gets out there when they say they will and get the power turned back on).
So yay!
So yay!

::or we'll do it this way
Alright, so my lovely weekend plans didn't quite follow through. Instead we got:
No closing. The bank decided it didn't have time to get to our paperwork even though they've had a 2 month notice of the exact date that we would close. I'll spare you my rant, but suffice to say, I'm a bit miffed. Supposedly we're closing today...but I'm not holding my breath.
Therefore, no painting or home improvement project of any kind.
Therefore, a waste of a vacation day as all I did Friday was pretty much sit around waiting to hear whether we could close or not. Well, that and be really really mad.
But you know...(and it's taken me 3 days to say this, but) we'll eventually own a house one way or the other. I'm fighting every urge to send a hate email to the processing department. Just as a heads up though....for those that don't yet have a loan...don't use Bank of America. Of course, they probably won't make it through this year as it is...but just in case they do...
Moment of silence for the lost weekend.

::the days ahead
This will probably be my last post for a little bit. This weekend is as full as last weekend. (Not quite as dolled up, but full nonetheless).
Tonight: Walkthrough at 5:00 (Yay! I haven't actually seen the house for about a month or so. It'll be fun seeing it almost empty). Then finance conference at church. You're more than welcome to come. Dave Ramsey is telecasting throughout several churches. First Evan's is at 7:00 tonight. I'm not sure about times at other churches.
Tomorrow: Closing at 11:00. Not really sure how long this all will take. I just know to show up with a very large check. :)
Saturday: Take possession of our new home!! Painting fun begins about 2:30ish. Can't wait! Painting will continue a good bit through the rest of the week. Hopefully the moving will take place next weekend. We're looking to paint and clean the carpets before getting too much furniture over there.
I'll have pictures to post of the process (of course) as well as many before and after shots. We're painting some furniture so that'll be included also.

::continuing on...
Since we're on topic (a little), I figure I would make a post and dedicate it to my sister. (Just as a side note, the previous post was not in reference to her) But she asked me yesterday who else in my family besides my mother was sensitive. I listed a few people, including her, and she funnily replied "whatever dog". She was being sensitive about being called sensitive. Aaron and I had a chuckle. But to you, sweet Olivia, I give you the pros and cons of being a sensitive person.
PROS:
- considerably more thoughtful than the rest of the population
- always thinking of the needs of others
- great listeners
- genuinely empathetic
- people just like to be around you
- two words: Carolyn Massee
- gentle, kind spirit (which Greatly mirrors Christ's own)
- usually very humble
CONS:
- people could easily take advantage of you because you really would just do anything in the world for them
- typically wear their heart on their sleeve
- easily offended
- consider other's opinions far too important
- sense of self worth usually defined by others
Now, these are not from any book, nor are they specific to each and every individual. Everyone is different in their own way. And not all of these apply to you, Olivia. But, my word, can you imagine a world where there were no sensitive people?! I guess I don't really see where being sensitive became a bad thing. I asked Aaron last night if I was a sensitive person to which he lovingly responded (this is paraphrased) "No. You're basically a man." Well, thanks for the honesty. I do try SO hard to think of others but it's so not my nature. I would give anything to be more sensitive.
So, Olivia, keep on keeping on. I wouldn't say your the most sensitive person in the world that I've ever met in my life (so don't think I think you sit around just crying about things all the time). But, you really are just so thoughtful. You're so kind and sweet and anyone would be lucky to be like you. :)

::my weekend, part 2
Well, now that you've gotten to see my weekend, I figured I let you read about it as well.
Thursday night: Bridesmaid dinner
Hawaiian themed- I didn't wear anything themey as I don't own anything in a print. (This is a bit of an exaggeration. I found three shirts with a print) Anyways, we played games and made our "bouquets" for the rehearsal dinner. Got to see some old, old friends I hadn't seen in a Long time. It was alot of fun aside from the fact that it got late and I had to be at work the next day...
Friday night: Rehearsal/Rehearsal dinner
Look all over the city for a dress for this event. No success. Just wore an old J.Crew dress I had. Rehearsal went well. It was funny to see Carter humming the song he wrote for Maria's bridal walk as all the bridesmaids walked down the aisle. He wanted it timed just right. Sounds like BBC. :) Dinner was at Jim's Place East. This was the first rehearsal dinner I had ever been to at a restaurant. It was really pretty. We had an option of three entrees and three desserts. AND we got to take our leftovers home! Yay!
Saturday: The big day
The weather could not have been more perfect. It stopped raining Just as we were about to take pictures so a vast majority were taken outside. It had just rained so everything just glistened. The weather was cool so no one was getting scorched out in the sun. Just perfect. Everyone looked so pretty all dolled up. Curls everywhere! Reception was just right. Good food, good company. The party favor cookies were SO Maria. The whole day was just precious.
We all went out to dinner that night and by Sunday I was a mess of a person. I only got off the couch to go to church, run a load of laundry and pick up dinner. :)

::my lament
Oh...dear tax season...why must you be here? Why must all people put off their taxes until the last minute? Why can't any corrections be easy?
At least the madness ends. Tomorrow. At 4:31. :)
I'll have to buy myself a cupcake. Next week. When I actually have a spare moment.
