Looks like come the end of September, I'll be headed here:

Can we say excited?! Let's just hope I don't get laid off...

::slowly but surely

Artwork is getting put up a little bit at a time. I'll have to take pictures of some of the stuff I've done so far. I also got new bedding for the guest room. Oh, it is just SO much better. I Loved the quilt on that bed, but it was just so much color in that room with the blue walls and the green bedspread. This is the update:

You can't really tell coloring by this picture, but the swirls are tan with blue accents. It goes perfectly with the furniture and my curtains. Yay!
So now for pillows! Here are a couple that I'm eye-balling:

Now these are not for the above bedding. I'm thinking about putting the french stripe pillows on the white couch and the fur pillow on my bed. And last but not least, the new coffee table idea:

I want to get two of these and put them side by side for our den. Aaron is not too keen on using 2 tables though. He wants to get one long table like we have now. I just like the versatility of having two tables. We could move them around or use them elsewhere should we ever get something new.

That's all for now...

I couldn't even begin to choose:

::the little things

So I woke up this morning and as I stumbled into the bathroom I saw all these q-tips laid out on the bathroom counter. Aaron had left me a note "I love you" and a smiley face. Now that's just a good start to the day. ;)

I've finally gotten out of my "moving" slump and the ideas for wall decoration are flooding through my mind. I've gotten some fantastic ideas and can't wait for this all to get started. I'm pretty sure I'm going to make most anything that goes on the walls at this point...(not actually make any frames...more what goes in the frames)

So yay! It's going to take a while, but I'll post some pictures as they get put up. ;)

::new recipe

And while I'm posting, I found a recipe to make your own honey-roasted sunflower seeds that is Really great. So I figured I'd share:

Ingredients
2 cups raw sunflower seeds
3 tablespoons honey or agave nectar (warm the honey first)
2 tablespoons bland oil (any unflavored oil such as sunflower, safflower, corn, etc.)
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
1Tip: by warming the honey first, it will be much easier to stir the honey in with the seeds.
2PREHEAT oven to 325ยบ.
3In a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients and stir well to coat the seeds.
4Arrange the sunflower seeds singly (as best you can) on a large parchment-lined baking sheet.
5Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until seeds are golden, stirring often. Important: *You must watch the baking process carefully to avoid burning the seeds.*.
6Remove from oven and cool completely.
7Transfer to airtight container.

::on morality

So I've been watching the most recent season of Private Practice. I waited until the season was over so I could watch them all in order and at the timing of my choosing. It's a blessing and a curse, really, as now my entire life is devoted to frivolity and not to necessity. I'm just hoping the dirty dishes will eventually bother Aaron ;) Nah, I'll get to all that.

The reason I bring this up is that this season has basically been about ethics. It's interesting to see how they deal with situations coming from a non-Christian standpoint. There is clearly a good and bad in most situations, but not so much a right and wrong. Ethics seems to be defined by the man himself and in many situations lately, seems to super cede that of the law. This brings up an interesting question in my mind. When is it ever ok to do the wrong thing for the right reason? Almost everyone I've ever talked to tells me scripture isn't black and white. So what? Does my allegiance to Christ super cede the law? I know he says give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to honor your mother and father. But if either is asking you to blatantly contradict what is black and white in scripture, what do you do?

::tip

I come home from Nashville yesterday and Aaron had cleaned the house and bought me the most beautiful, blue hydrangeas. Any time I have money to splurge, I almost always want to buy flowers for the house. Hydrangeas are one of my 3 most favorite so it was esp. sweet that he remembered!

The flowers when I first got home were a bit wilty. I don't think they travel to well or maybe they were a bit picked over. Here's the tip, put the hydrangeas in hot, hot, hot water from the tap along with the recommended amount of food that comes with them. I don't remember where I read this but it works! Overnight my flowers perked right up and look just perfect. No wilting and the flowers are all bloomed.

::too busy

Well, life again has picked up. I'll try and post something meaningful soon, but right now this is the best I can do.

- Aaron bought me the Sims 3 for my new computer! He said that was what he actually wanted to get me but knew it wouldn't work on my old, sad computer! I played it some last night. SO much better than Sims2.

- Haven't had time to cook Anything. I'm serious. We've grilled out several times since moving, but I haven't had time to cook one meal since we've moved in. That's just really sad.

- Nashville trip this weekend, most likely. Of course it's the only Saturday Aaron actually has off work. Le sigh.

- Carolyn's wedding is SO close. She wants me to do her hair and we're practicing tomorrow. I hope I don't suck at it too bad. I did her hair for Amy's wedding and it looked really cute. It all just depends on what she wants. Oh, and this is the last wedding I have until the fall! Woot!

- Work is crazier than normal now, which is why I'm having to say goodbye. So much to say, so much to show you...but alas, time is not on my side at the moment...
