- I need a haircut. Badly!! I've got an appt for this Saturday. Whoo hoo!
- All my curtains have come in and are sitting in my house waiting to be hung up. I'm almost finished!!
- I need to plan our housewarming party.
- Kitty has been doing great since we got his claws clipped! He's pretty much back to his old self.
- I LOVE owning my home. I love so many things about it it would just take forever to get through the list
- Our neighbors were going to buy us a grill for a housewarming present. We'd only know them maybe 10 minutes. We had just received a grill from my aunt and uncle eariler that day, so our neighbors wrote us a check for the one we had just received!
- I started re-reading Mere Christianity. I don't think you can ever read this book too many times. I wish I was as smart as C.S. Lewis.
- I'm really pining for a vacation but it's really looking like it's not going to happen this year. If it was though, this is where I'd want to go:

::gifts
So Aaron kept saying he knew what he wanted to get me for my birthday. It's months away but he said since we had the money leftover from the house-buying, that he wanted to go ahead and get it. Days went by and he would never tell me what it was. Well, turns out the gift is only partly for my birthday, but it's partly for me finding our house. Aaron was away for training throughout most of the process so he said he wanted to get me a thank you present. I'm thinking it'll be something small... not too expensive...but instead I get:

It's shiny and pretty and has Vista on it. He even put a background on it he thought I'd like and a little kitty picture above my login name. He could tell you more about the cool, up to date features on it. I just like that all the buttons light up blue. :)
Thanks honey!

::yay!
Ok, so I finally ordered curtains for our bedroom! Yay. I Love them!!
I also found the cutest online fabric store and am I'm trying to choose a fabric for my dining room curtains. These are the ones I'm choosing between. Thoughts?

::where did the time go?
Ok...so I was saying to my mother yesterday about how little time I have to do everything. And last night in bed I was trying to work out my schedule for this week. Can I just say it's so hard working 40 hours a week and still getting everything done? For all you mom's out there who work full time...I don't know how you do it. I really don't. Bless you!
I figured out I have between the hours of 5:30-8:30 to get the grocery shopping, making dinner, exercising, decorating, home shopping, home cleaning, yard work and anything other little thing that comes up done. Normally it's not too bad. I think it's just the addition of all the home work that's pushing it over the edge. That and the numerous weddings, birthdays, showers still to come (though fun, I'll admit).
I'll post some pictures soon. I finally got the hardware for the dressers we painted (a LONG time ago), so I'll get that. Also, we just got internet back in our home. That helps. We got kitty's claws clipped and he's all hobbling around. It's sad. But he did jump up and sit in my lap yesterday! So yay that his personality isn't changing or he isn't permantly mad/afraid of us. I still can't decide on what curtains to get for our dining room. I almost bought some from restoration hardware and I keep going back and forth. I think I'm just going to get some fabric and have them made. I need them a custom length anyway...and I'm just a little more picky on print and fabric than I thought I was.

::coming up for air
I feel like I've been on vacation the last week or so. Not like the laying around on the beach, not worrying about anything kind of vacation, but more the I'm sleeping in a random house but my suitcases are here kind of vacation. Of course, getting to come to work is a nice little slap in the face of reality. It seems like real life has been put on hold for a while. It's kind of strange.
Coming back from this (slowly but surely) is SO nice. It's nice to just sit down and enjoy the fruit of all this labor. We still have things to unpack, curtains and pictures to hang, things to throw away...but we've made a lot of progress. Had the family over on Sunday for Mom's Day so they could see it all put together (for the most part). Aaron and I sat down together for dinner for the first time, I think, Sunday in our new home. It's just been SO much work. I can't even tell you.
However, things are returning to normal and my life is beginning to resume again. Greek fest was fantastic this year. The food was better in my opinion than any of the other years I've been. I'll have some pictures soon of everything, but we still don't have Internet at our house. I haven't been able to check my email in a week. *_* Slowly but surely!!....

::reminder

Greek Fest is this weekend. They have a drive through on the side of the church in case you don't want to pay to get in. If you've never been though, I would recommend it. I have, so I'm just picking up the food. Some of the best green beans and greek pastries you'll get!

::just for today
May I start by saying this has just been one of those weeks. I'll go ahead and preface this post telling you the following is just me whining. So, feel free to bypass. The next post should hold much more promising material.
I'm officially tired of painting, fixing, moving, unpacking and whatever joy comes with this entire process. And of course we can't ever move since it won't stop raining. Ever.
The power was out at our apartment again this morning(shock). So, Aaron decides to leave for work early. I tell him to drive by the house, see if the porch light is on. It was. So, I go over there to get ready this morning. I've been up since 5. Roll with the punches, I suppose.
We get my bedroom furniture setup last night in our guest bedroom. Turns out- that's the only bedroom (except the master) that cable is already hooked up to. Thus, our "office" has no cable which means no computer which means wasted office. SO...we move over the furniture aside from the bed into the "old office". We didn't move the bed because we had already put it together. AND the bedspread I already have won't match the paint in that room...so there's something else I need to get.
Lord, just for today:
- teach me patience
- teach me flexibility
- teach me to laugh at these situations where it really will be funny next week
- teach me to enjoy this rain for in the summer I'll miss it
- teach me to not care that my eyeliner isn't even, that I left my wedding rings at the apartment, that I couldn't get my lunch from the fridge cause I didn't want to open it, and every other little thing that shows I continually have no control over anything.
It's really fine. It's just one of those days.

::just one minute
Yes, I'm alive. Yes, I'm a little sore. Yes, I'm very tired. We've painted at least 1600 sq. ft. in the last 5 days. We've got one more coat to put in our guest bathroom and then we're done. Praise the Lord! We had a lot of help...so don't think it was just me and Aaron.
Next: clean the carpets. Move little boxes over from our apartment. Move all furniture from the parent's house.
Then: Shop for treadmills! I'm very excited about this. Weather will never again be a concern. :)
Then: Shopping for the house. I'm even more excited about this. Rugs, towels, kitchen and bath accessories, pretty lighting...just everything...
Saturday should be the day we move. *hopes it doesn't rain. The couches are being delivered on Thursday and the fridge is being delivered on Saturday. We'll just see.
