::summer reading list

Ok, well I've put off Ayn Rand as I said I would. I promise I'll pick it up eventually. It just looks so daunting *_* But...for my birthday I took a looksie on half.com just to browse and I ended ordering a couple of things. On the list we have:

I read The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (very short story...but interesting) the other day. And I think the next one on the list is The Picture of Dorian Gray.

::just noticed

I got the Urban Outfitters catalog in the mail yesterday. Now, I'm usually dissapointed by what I see as I truly believe all 90's grung mixed with anything from the 80's should never ever be worn, ever...(unless your Kate Moss). But, I have to tell you I was pleasantly surprised.

They've got a whole like of prep school-ish wear that's adorable. I love the blazer. JCrew had something similiar last fall and I wanted it so bad but of course it was ridicously expensive and how often would you really wear it, you know. I also love the dark blue dress. Perfect for a night out.

Now, I'll just have to be content with pining for an Urban Outfitters store until one magically appears in this dead hole of a city. Either that, or a road trip sounds fun...

::the little girl who could

Well, partially could... :) I'm not so faithful on the pictures now. Sorry about that. It's just a hassle everytime I want to find that cord to plug the camera into the computer to upload anything. And then there's my sad little laptop who's on his last leg. Only one USB port works now which makes it all the more fun. Soon you can see my little bonsai's (as I'm sure you'll all dying in anticipation).

Just wanted to let you know that I did finish Madame Bovary today. It was alright. Nothing I plan on reading again, but then again, I don't think I've ever read any book twice. hmm...
Had alot of free time at work today so I powered through. Sad little story. Sad little woman.

Well, now the quandry: to start The Fountainhead or Atlas Shrugged? Suggestions? Maybe I should pick up something a little lighter...Gossip girl perhaps :)

What about you? What are you reading now? Any suggestions for what I should pick up next? Ayn Rand can always sit for a while.

::welcome home

Well, we're back. The trip was fun (no pictures were taken...many apologies). We shopped, swam in the lake, bought a bunch of glass:

Well, the glass was mostly for Melinda, but I did pick up a piece kinda like that blue one in the middle. Aaron and his dad went digging for crystals. I would have gone but it was either that or shopping. Plus it was raining. All in all, we had a good time. Oh, they surprised us and celebrated my birthday along with grandma's and Leah's. So, that was sweet. I almost ate the cake there, but I was strong. Wednesday comes soon enough. I figure I'm going to get chocolate covered cashews from the best place on earth.

This week is shaping up to be a pretty nice birthday week though. Started it off with a little shopping. Got a free present from Sephora for my birthday which was cute and nice. Bought a pair of pants I intend to mutilate because capris apparently only come in lengths to hit you right below the knee. Please, find me a picture of a female wearing this where it doesn't make her look 100 lbs. heavier than she really is. If you own these types of pants, if must just be me. I'm sure Kate Moss can do it.

Oh! I forgot about showing you my bonsai trees. When I get home, I'll upload a picture for you.
Made quesadillas for dinner and watched Casino Royale. Spent the rest of the evening talking in a British accent. :) I also am a couple chapters in Surprised by Hope which is a funny read right after Things Unseen. It amused me a little. Both are excellent though.
I can't seem to pick up Madame Bovary to finish it. Maybe now...
I need to finish a book before I start another. *_*

::off to Hot Springs

Due to some haters, here's a quickie:

Work has been really busy surprisingly. We got to leave today about 1:45 which was a big surprise. We were actually the last department to leave (due to the boss) but whatevs. I got some birthday shopping done (no, not for myself...) at the Williams Sonoma outlet and got some Great deals! I want to go back and snag a couple things for myself. ;) I also got a run in and a load of laundry all before dinner!

Aaron and I will leave in the morning for Hot Springs. I think his parents are taking us for breakfast tomorrow before we get down there. I'm not exactly sure what all we'll be doing, but I'll inform you once we get back.

If you think about it, stop by a check on kitty :) I'm pretty sure he'll get lonely and act out.

I've already gotten a bunch of stuff of my sephora registry (think it's stupid if you must)! Oh, and I was told that if you go into Sephora on your actual birthday they give you a present. If you know what it is, let me know. I'm planning on going right now, but if it's something like a pocketknife, I'm staying home.

Just a gratuitous picture of kitty. He likes to help me with the laundry!
